Karen Driscoll, LCSW, M.Ed.

Karen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Connecticut and a Licensed Master Social Worker in New York. She graduated with a BA from Brown University, where she studied psychology and education and graduated with honors in Educational Studies. Karen went on to earn a master’s degree (M.Ed) in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education and a master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Fordham’s Graduate School of Social Service.

Karen’s diverse background provides her with a unique skill set to meaningfully support those facing today’s ever-changing range of challenges.
After a senior level career in educational television and media, Karen pivoted to pursue her passion for helping others in a therapeutic environment.

At its core, therapy is about a trusting, non-judgmental and mutually respectful relationship. With an individualized, strengths-based approach, Karen uses a combination of psychodynamic and evidence-based behavioral techniques, plus a healthy dose of humor, to instill productive changes. Her experience as a business executive provides a unique perspective based on years of collaboration with diverse teams and well-honed organizational management skills. This informs her current work, drawing on compassion, patience, and clear communication to help people reach their goals and potential.

While at Fordham, Karen studied Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and received a certificate in current trends in family intervention and evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She is currently pursuing further training in DBT through Behavioral Tech, a subsidiary of the Linehan Institute.

Karen works with adolescents and adults at all life stages to help them process whatever concerns they are facing, from relationship or professional stressors to major life transitions. She also has experience with parents and caregivers, helping to navigate their children’s anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, and other complicated diagnoses, and to assess educational needs.
